Support
Stuck? Ask a person.
Global Overlap is a small app made by one company, so support is one inbox that a human reads. Most answers are below. If yours is not, write to us.
support@usefulisms.comSay which version you use (iPhone, iPad, Mac, or the web) and what you expected to happen. A screenshot helps.
How it works
Adding cities and people
Tap the search field, type a city name and pick it from the list. Each city becomes a row on the timeline showing its local time. Add as many as you like. You can rename a row after a person instead of a place if that is easier to read.
Working hours
Every row has working hours. The default is nine to five. Use the presets to switch everyone at once, or open a row to give one person their own hours. The columns where every row's hours line up are the overlap, and they light up.
Sending a time to your calendar
Pick a column and choose Google Calendar, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or a calendar file. The app opens your provider with the time already filled in for every zone. Nothing is booked until you confirm it there.
Where your data lives
On your device. There is no account and no server. Deleting the app deletes your cities. The privacy policy has the details.
Common questions
A city is missing from search
Search uses Open-Meteo's place database. Try the nearest larger town, or the country's spelling of the name. If a real city is genuinely missing, tell us and we will look into it.
The time for a city looks wrong
Check whether that place changed its daylight saving rules recently. Your device's own time zone database decides the offset, so an operating system update usually fixes it. If the device is up to date and it is still wrong, send us the city and the time you see.
Can I sync between my phone and my Mac?
Not yet. Each device keeps its own list. It takes a minute to add the same cities on the other device.
Is it free?
Yes. There is a button to buy us a coffee if you find it useful. It changes nothing in the app.
